Description: The presence of such a sodic amphibole in this rock is unverified. No chemical analysis in the reference cited. Optical evidence would be insufficient to establish the validity of this report, although no optical data are given in support. Chemical analyses from as early as Warren and Palache (1916) through Lyons (1976) definitely and unambiguously show good chemical analyses for riebeckite and insufficient soda to significantly approach the afrvedsonite boundary.
