A supergene phosphate ore deposit.
The Matongo carbonatite in Burundi is part of the Neoproterozoic Upper Ruvubu Alkaline Plutonic Complex. It occurs at a depth of about 40-80 m and forms a NNE elongated intrusion of 2750m long and 250m wide.
