to the west, as well as the Campsie fells and the Ochils, were...influence of a great
fault which runs from east to west along the northern face of the

the west side of the rock, the pillars gradually coalesce... These beds form the
rock termed " Osmund" in Scotland, and which is so often
referred to by old writers...as a similar mineral found in the dolerite of Bowling quarry,
