Named after Meimecha river, tributary of River Kheta, N. Siberia, Russian Federation.
An ultramafic volcanic rock composed of olivine phenocrysts in a groundmass of olivine, clinopyroxene, magnetite and glass.

Defined chemically as having <1% (Na2O+K2O) and >1% TiO2.
