Visitor Exit Surveys

TOMM Visitor Exit Surveys were first conducted on Kangaroo Island in 1998, and since 2000 have been conducted annually.  Market Research companies have been engaged to carry out this work with input into the questionnaire design by the TOMM Management Committee.  Visitor Exit Survey data is used by TOMM, partner agencies, community and industry for a variety of purposes, and TOMM is now is a position to produce time-series data, and look at trend line information.  TOMM has produced a series of Fact Sheets available on the TOMM Fact Sheets page on this website.

In 2004/2005 at the request of the TOMM Management Committee our market research company (Colmar Brunton Research) restructured data from previous waves of research to fit neatly within each financial year.  Where possible tracking of these results has been presented on those questions where the question format was kept comparable across the past five years of the Visitor Exit Survey.  This information, along with comparisons of TOMM data to the NVS (National Visitor Survey) and IVS (International Visitor Survey) data, have been presented in one consistent format.  Rather than presenting each years report, this information inconsolidated each year, reporting on trends and changes since monitoring began in 2000.  The most recent Visitor Exit Survey Report available is:
