“Where’s Brock? He might have seen something – or heard something. He was in the woods with me. We were together all day,” Alex said. Just then, a medic walked through the doors. “We found a wallet on the body. Belongs to a man named Brock Bellavue…”

“Is this a sick joke?” Ellen said through gritted teeth. “This photo is from 1996. It’s Tim.” Alex’s heart dropped. Of course it was Tim. He’d erased his face from his memory so many years ago (with the help of some alcohol). Was he going crazy?

Ellen and the officer walked through the door. “A dead body was found. You’re the only one unaccounted for,” said the officer. Alex grabbed the photo. “I-I was at the scene shop. This kid saw me.” Ellen looked at the photo, the color draining from her face.

Ellen talked to the police while Alex sat in her office. Alex nervously touched the items on her desk, accidentally knocking over a photo. The frame broke. Through the shards of glass, Alex could make out the face of the boy from outside the scene shop.

“I found her tied up in my office... she said someone with a mask put her in there,” said Ellen accusingly. That's when it hit Alex… If Mindy’s alive, who was dead? Gale led the rest of the campers in lockdown protocol while Ellen walked Alex back to her office.

When Alex got to the theater, everyone was gathered. He stood in the doorway, shaking. Blood and green makeup on his boots. He whispered “She… she’s dead.” Behind him, Ellen pushed past with a camper in tow. It was Mindy. Alex ran towards her, “You’re alive?!” he said.

The scream sounded like it came from camp. Alex ran back as fast as he could. He tripped over something heavy. A body. A green face was covered in dirt and the thick black wig was sticky with fresh blood. Someone killed Elphaba. Someone killed Mindy.

Alex exhaled. It was nothing. His mind was playing tricks on him. He opened the door to leave and as he did, he felt the color drain from his face. Outside was the same young boy from before, waving in the distance. Alex yelled “Hey!” But the boy disappeared behind a tree.

Alex took out his cellphone and used the flashlight. The room was filled with old furniture and props. Alex looked at a desk, which was draped with a cloth. Was that a shoe under there? He walked towards it, pulling the cloth off in one motion.

Brock ran back to camp as Alex made his way toward the old scene shop. He looked up at the broken down shop, nausea building in his stomach. Finally, he gathered the courage to push through the front door.

After a few moments of bliss and confusion, Brock pulled away. “I think we should break up,” he said. Alex’s rage bubbled. “But we’re not ev-” “No not like that,” Brock interjected. “I mean we’ll cover more ground if we split. I have a plan that'll buy us some time."

As they made their way towards the scene shop, Alex couldn’t help but ask, “How did that woman recognize you?” His flight-or-fight senses were tingling. “And why are you so adamant on helping? This isn’t really your problem,” Alex said.

After searching the property Brock and Alex agreed Mindy wasn’t there. The sun was setting. They were running out of options. Brock suggested the one place they hadn’t looked yet: The scene shop. The place they found Tim’s body all those years ago.

“He was my friend,” said Brock. “Awful thing that happened. They never did find the killer, did they?” the woman asked. It was hard to tell if she was tearing up or smiling. “No.” Brock said. “They didn’t.” Alex started to wish they hadn’t gone into the woods.
